Custom Pruning

Why Custom Pruning in the Puget Sound Region?

Pruning is a means of training and manipulating the growth of a plant in order to maximize its potential for any of several reasons -- flowering/fruiting, framing a view, accenting a style or element in the landscape, the health of the plant, and general aesthetics.  While many people consider pruning to simply be a process of cutting a plant back, there are numerous other factors to be taken into consideration.  The reason for the pruning, as well as an understanding of the plant’s response, will determine the type and timing of pruning necessary.

Occasionally, we find that a plant has outlived its usefulness in the landscape, and can make recommendations for a more appropriate plant to take its place.

Renovation may be necessary for previously neglected or malpruned plants.  Corrections may require a simple touch-up, or a more extensive renovation over a two to three year period in order to avoid stress to the plant. (We find this frequently with fruit trees.)  We at Jungle-Tamer have the knowledge and ability to provide expert pruning to maximize your plant’s beauty and function in the landscape.

If you are interested in learning more about proper pruning tecniques in order to maintain your own landscape, we are able to provide on-site instruction and consultation.
